At the Shoolini Literature Festival, we spoke on a panel titled “Of Habits and Higher Purpose.” It was more than just a talk — it felt like a soul-check. What does it really take to live with clarity, meaning, and deep inner direction?
The answer, we believe, begins with the habits we cultivate.
But not just any habits — soul-aligned ones.

To even see your higher purpose, you must first be aligned with your inner self. Not the self shaped by expectation and conditioning, but the deeper Soul Mind — that calm, intuitive space within. The ego or body mind operates from fear, proving, reacting. But the soul doesn’t chase. It guides — gently, wisely, and quietly.
And we access that guidance through conscious, intentional habits that help us live in flow with our true nature.
Table of Contents
Toggle1. Physical Habits – Nourishing the Body with Love
When we care for our body as a sacred vessel — through nourishing food, joyful movement, deep rest, and mindful breathing — we create stability. That groundedness allows the soul’s whispers to be heard.
2. Mental Habits – Training the Monkey Mind
Stillness of mind isn’t a talent; it’s a practice. Journaling, meditation, digital hygiene, and focused attention slowly rewire the mental chatter. The mind stops drowning the soul and starts serving it.
3. Spiritual Habits – Coming Home to Your Essence
Moments of silence. Connection with nature. Rituals that create meaning. These are the habits that keep the flame alive. They help us return to the place within that always knows who we are and why we’re here.

The more you live from Soul Mind, the more your higher purpose becomes a felt sense — not just an idea. It gives you clarity to act, resilience to stay the course, and inspiration to rise again when life tests you.
So pause.
Reflect.
And ask yourself:
What’s one habit I can choose today that brings me closer to my soul?
Because your purpose is not something far away.
It’s something you become — through the life you live each day.
